Shopify lets AI agents check out on its merchants' stores
Shopify extended WebMCP support to checkout, including Shop Pay, for all eligible merchants. Three new tools let an AI agent in the buyer's browser read the checkout, change the address or delivery option, and place the order once the buyer authorises it. Amazon blocks shopping agents. Shopify is going the other way, and Muse and Instinct already partner with it.
