How we source and credit
Summaries with commentary, drafted with AI tools. Not original reporting. Last updated 2 October 2026.
What the news pages are
The news on this site is a set of short summaries of other people's reporting and announcements, written in our own words for people who run a small business. We are not a news organisation and we do not do original reporting.
Every story names its source and links to the original article or announcement. The reporters and companies we link to did the work. If a story matters to you, read the original.
What is theirs and what is ours
Theirs: the facts, the reporting and the quotes. We keep our summaries short and do not copy articles.
Ours: the headline wording, the summary, the commentary on what a story means for a small business (always in its own paragraph, marked "Our read") and the things to do. The commentary and the things to do are our opinion. They are not reporting, and they are not legal, financial or other professional advice.
How a story is written
The stories and tool picks are found and written with AI tools. An AI agent picks stories from public news feeds, reads the source pages, and drafts the headline, the summary, the commentary and the things to do. It is instructed to check each story against the official source. Updates reach the site through its code repository, usually after Vinit Jhawar approves them, but nobody re-checks every sentence against its source before it goes live. Mistakes can get through. If you spot one, tell us and we will fix it.
One thing is checked by rule rather than by a model. Before the site is published, an automatic check refuses any story that does not name its source, that links anywhere other than a list of sources a person has reviewed, that runs over a set length, or that contains anything other than plain text. It cannot tell whether a summary is right. It makes sure that every story points back to a real source you can read for yourself.
Images, logos and names
The picture on a story is either the company's own image or our own graphic. When a company publishes launch art, a press image or a product shot on its own site, we may show it, credited on the story with a link to the page it came from. We never use photos from the news articles we summarise, agency or stock photos, or AI-made pictures. Every other story shows our own graphic: the name of the source on a plain green ground.
Company names, product names and logos on this site, including the source marks on stories, the tool logos and the wall of tools on the home page, belong to their owners. We use them only to say which company, product or publication we mean. It does not mean they work with us, sponsor us or endorse us, or that we endorse them.
Tool picks
The tools we feature are our own picks. The price and what each tool does are as we found them on the date shown and they change, so check the tool's own site before you rely on them. The links are plain links with no affiliate codes.
