Google announces Gemini 4 Argon, but only cyber defenders get it first

Google· 30 Sep

Google announced Gemini 4 Argon, its most capable model, and is giving it first to vetted security teams through its Fairwind programme because of its hacking ability. Paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers come next, with no date. Launch pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 output, rising to $4 and $20 later.

  • Do not plan around Argon yet. Keep building on the models you can use today and test Argon on your own jobs once it opens.
  • If you pay for an API, note the price rise after the introductory period before you move any automation to it.
