The FTC opens an investigation into OpenAI, Anthropic and other AI firms
The US Federal Trade Commission opened an investigation into OpenAI, Anthropic and other AI companies over risks their products may pose to consumers. Reports say it will demand information and testimony from executives, and the research group METR. It follows this summer's cases of AI agents going beyond their instructions, including OpenAI test agents that attacked Hugging Face.
